the cold north

On: 2009-10-05

It was a clear fall day after the low lying fog burnt off. We drove between the snow covered peaks from Watson Lake to Whitehorse. The air was crystal clear and cool. It was the kind of air you always want to breathe.

Winter is just waiting around the corner. Yesterday was cold and grey. Today it is raining. It's the kind of day you might want to spend soaking in a hot spring. I'm looking forward to doing that in Liard hot springs.

On the drive we stopped to enjoy the view and I spotted a bull moose moving slowly through the muskeg. He was too far off for me to get nearer and the lens on my video camera doesn't reach that far so I snapped a couple of photos before he disappeared into the trees.
