Through the Caribou and heading toward Smithers

On: 2009-09-10

We left Penticton and drove to Merrit and took the back road over Logan Lake to Ashcroft. We stayed the first night in Cache Creek in a motel to charge batteries and use the internet. The next day we drove through the semi-arid landscape of the Cariboo region to Clinton, 100 Mile House, William's Lake and Quesnel.

We drove into Prince George in the pouring rain. We bought more cassettes, batteries and I bought a pair of rain pants at Mark's Work Warehouse. We headed on to Vanderhoof and the skies cleared.

We found a small campground which we shared with some motor homes. Not exactly roughing it here with internet and little store but we were able to test the tent and sleeping bags etc. All is functional and we stayed dry. Chris had the stove going and fried up some tasty rainbow trout he had caught a couple days before at Yellow lake.

On the way to Smithers or possibly Stewart... going to play it by ear.

Great to hear your tent doesn't leak - and keep those feet dry! :-)
